Alan obtained his Bachelor of Journalism degree in Public Relations from the University of Georgia, and earned his J.D. degree, summa cum laude, from John Marshall Law School. While at Georgia, Alan was a member of Phi Kappa Tau Fraternity where he held numerous offices, including President, Recruitment Chairman, Social Chairman, Philanthropy Chairman, and IFC Representative and Pledge Class President.
Alan is a member of the State Bar of Georgia, the Atlanta Bar Association, the Gwinnett Bar Association, the Georgia Trial Lawyers Association and the American Association for Justice. In 2004 he attended and graduated from Gerry Spence’s Trial Lawyers College (TLC) located in Wyoming.

Alan is authorized to practice law in the following courts and jurisdictions: All Magistrate, State and Superior Courts in every Georgia county, Court of Appeals of the State of Georgia, Supreme Court of the State of Georgia, U.S. District Court for the Northern and Middle District of Georgia, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit. In addition, Alan has practice experience in state or federal courts in Tennessee, Florida, Alabama, Kentucky, Arizona, Utah and the District of Columbia. When a client’s legal needs require litigation outside of Georgia, Alan can rely upon a personal network of over 650 of the country’s best trial lawyers to help me with your case. Practice outside the State of Georgia must be done with approval of the court and in association with legal counsel admitted to practice in that jurisdiction. Although Alan is a civil attorney, he views his role as a trial lawyer as one of public service. He believes in giving back time and money to the community. For the last 12 years, Alan has proudly sponsored youth baseball and softball in Gwinnett County and coached over 40 seasons of youth baseball since that time. Alan has also spoken annually at continuing education classes for lawyers on such topics as insurance bad faith, plaintiff’s personal injury, proving hidden injury damages and premises liability. He served as the Parliamentarian for the Riverside Elementary PTA form 1999 to 2009 and has volunteered his time to the Gwinnett County High School Moot Court competition as an evaluator/judge and as a speaker for the State Bar of Georgia’s “Speak Up” campaign designed to bring the lay public information about the law by appearing before local civic groups. Additionally, Alan served on the Board of the North Gwinnett Baseball Softball Association from 2004-06 as Communications Director, 2007-09 as Sponsorship Director and 2009-11 as President. For most of the last twenty years, he’s been an alumni advisor in the Phi Kappa Tau National Fraternity, speaking at and facilitating seminars for Phi Tau chapters throughout the Southeast on such topics as leadership, recruitment, and risk management.
